Vicki Pitstick

Vicki holds an MA and PhD in Education Studies with a concentration in Higher Education and Student Affairs from The Ohio State University. She has been in higher education for over 25 years and has served in administrative leadership positions at the University of Missouri-Columbia, The Ohio State University, Virginia Tech, and Radford University. Her experience providing faculty development for lecturers through tenured faculty includes providing workshops and curriculum for First-Year Experience faculty as the Director of Student Connections at Radford University, serving as the Director of the Academy for Experiential Learning in the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at Virginia Tech, and providing leadership to the faculty mentors of the Second Year Experience Program (STEP) at Ohio State. Vicki’s dissertation research focused on faculty-student connections from the faculty perspective and resulted in the development of Compassionate Pedagogy.  She also does consultation and curriculum development for the One Circle Foundation, a non-profit focused on providing safe spaces for youth and young adults to share their challenges and accomplishments. In addition, she served as a national trainer for the organization for ten years. Her interests and expertise lie in assisting faculty and staff in better understanding, connecting with, and working with students, as well as helping women grow and develop as leaders.
