UITL is now accepting proposals for several grants that are designed to support our goals of creating community, supporting evidence-based teaching, and advocating for teachers. These grants are intended to enhance the teaching environment for all teachers, ultimately leading to gains in student achievement.

Specifically, the current set of grants would impact Ohio State teachers in three areas:

  • Valuing underserved teaching populations (GTAs and Lecturers, in particular)
  • Improving teaching at Ohio State through the adoption of evidence-based teaching practices
  • Expanding and strengthening communities of teachers beyond and between units

Visit the pages linked below for more information about each grant.

Teaching Community Grants

These grants provide funding for departments to deliberately build community around teaching.

Department Teaching Development Grants

These grants provide funding to work on a department-level teaching project while compensating auxiliary instructors and GTAs for their contributions and collaborations.

Scholarly Teacher Grants

These grants provide opportunities for individual teachers to continue developing their disciplinary knowledge.

Deadlines for spring grant applications are April 1.

We look forward to financially supporting exciting projects that promote excellence in teaching and fostering a culture of excellent teaching for individuals, units, and across units.
