Something that we hear often from instructors is: “I think that my class is going well, but there are times when I am not entirely sure if my students are ‘getting it.’” In other words, instructors want to know if students comprehend what they are teaching in between homework or exam results. Fortunately, there are many quick and effective ways to answer this question. In this asynchronous online workshop, you will learn about formative assessment, how it can help you assess student learning at any point during class, and how doing so also contributes to your students’ learning. We will discuss several classroom assessment techniques so that you can try out a few in your own class. Space will be limited, and you will need an active name.# to participate. The workshop will take place over a two-week time span.
