InterACT Theatre Troupe

The InterACT Theatre troupe will present an interactive performance that explores some of the challenges of and strategies for handling moments of bias and discrimination in the classroom. The performance will focus on those courses that offer instruction in serving and working with vulnerable or underserved populations, such as service-learning courses and courses specific to social work. The piece will highlight moments of bias in the classroom and “in the field.” The InterACT actors will remain in character and provide opportunities for participants to discuss and practically explore strategies for increasing their students’ sensitivity and ability to participate in effective dialogue around these issues.
