Have you ever used a rubric that produced a grade that felt wrong to you? Have you ever finished grading a stack of assignments feeling like your students did not understand what you were asking for? Do you ever sense that students are not quite sure what you want them to get out of an assignment? In this workshop, members from the Writing Across the Curriculum team will take participants through a grounded process of identifying grading criteria – “dynamic criteria mapping” – that more closely aligns with what you, as an instructor, value with regard to your students’ work.
