According to a May 2013 Report on the International Student Experience Inside and Outside the Classroom by OIA and Student Life, only 55% of international students feel that they belong on campus as compared to 68% of domestic students. International students are very accomplished academically, but they can face struggles in the US classroom environment. This workshop is designed for instructors and will focus on international student inclusion in the classroom. We will discuss barriers to creating a classroom community with international and domestic students. Participants will leave with specific strategies for making their classroom communities more inclusive.
