Our Mission

Thank you for your interest in the InterACT Theatre Project for Social Change!

Currently, InterACT is co–sponsored by the Commitment to Success Program (a collaboration between Faculty & TA Development and Ohio State's Office of Minority Affairs) and Ohio State's Department of Theatre. By using original data from CSP assessments, InterACT produces workshops on a wide variety of topics and uses interactive theatre to engage participants in difficult discussions on diversity and inclusion.

InterACT events are presented through the collective efforts of a diverse mix of undergraduate theatre students, who create and perform dramas that highlight hot–button social issues. Each student has enrolled in a service–learning theatre course, offered every quarter throughout Ohio State's academic year. The course is designed to hone students' live performance skills, while at the same time engaging students in dialogue about issues of social justice.

Among its outreach efforts, the InterACT theatrical troupe has worked with Ohio State's Multicultural Center, GLBT Student Services, Office of Minority Affairs, Todd A. Bell National Resource Center on the African American Male, and Office of International Affairs. Additionally, InterACT has presented interactive events for Ohio State's Undergraduate Admissions and First–Year Experience, Student Wellness Center, College of Dentistry, and Office for Disability Services.
